Do you guys realize BACKMASK is new ground for director Marcus Nispel? The filmmaker has previously only tackled fantasy-esque action films and remakes. Now he’s finally tackling a stand-alone horror flick. Intriguing, no? Of course it is.
What’s also intriguing are these two brand new behind the scenes shots we have from the film! Coming at us courtesy of DailyDead, these two new shots feature our director Mr. Nispel as well as a couple hotties from the film. During a sex, drugs, and rock-fueled party, six small-town teenagers find an old vinyl record and decide to play it backwards in order to listen for any subliminal/satanic messages. Lo and behold, a seemingly malevolent spirit quickly infiltrates the group, wreaking havoc as it moves from one body to another. Eventually, however, it’s revealed that the spirit in question is actually trying to convey a message… and that the real source of horror isn’t particularly paranormal, but rather something (or someone) much closer to home.
The supernatural romp stars a pretty unknown cast that includes Gage Golightly (below), Kelly Blatz, Brittany Curran, Brett Dier, Nick Nicotera, Michael Ormsby and Nick Nordella. With BACKMASK filming now I’m sure we can expect more news from this one soon. As soon as any other goods from the flick float our way we’ll be right here to tell you about them.
