It was almost ten months ago when we brought you word that Radar Pictures was set to produce THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT co-director Daniel Myrick's UNDER THE BED, and today we've got your first bit of casting for the thriller.
Heat Vision is reporting that "Black Sails" actress Hannah New has been tapped to star in UNDER THE BED, which also finds Appian Way, the production banner run by Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson Killoran, coming on board to produce.
UNDER THE BED, which is purportedly based on true events, centers on...
... a young woman (New) trying to get over a recent romantic breakup, while unbeknownst to her, an obsessed stalker befriends her on social media while taking up residence in her home.
Shawn Papazian is producing the project along with Radar’s Ted Field and Mike Weber, who developed the project, which started as a story by Myrick and producer Richard Halpern.
It's great to see Myrick back in action. After the success of THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT he worked on a handful of films such as BELIEVERS and SOLSTICE, but hasn't directed a feature since 2008's THE OBJECTIVE. Here's hoping he delivers something creepy and unsettling with UNDER THE BED.
