Charlize Theron says new Mad Max is neither prequel nor sequel

We heard some PROMETHEUS-related talk from the lovely Charlize Theron last week, and this week the lass is chatting about her next big action extravaganza: MAD MAX FURY ROAD. Yes, the actress is still attached to the film (which we learned last month is still being prepped in Australia) and UK site Total Film wanted to know just where it’ll fit in with the other MAX flicks.

“I think we’ve been told is it’s not a sequel or a prequel. It’s the world of Mad Max but it’s a re-imagination. I play a warrior and Mad Max is played by Tom Hardy; at least I hope it’s still Tom Hardy. That’s really all I think I can say”.

Of course she’s a warrior, you think Charlize is going to play a damsel in distress?

George Miller’s MAD MAX FURY ROAD is aiming for a Spring 2012 start in South Africa.
