Check out the trailer & poster for Simon Barrett’s Temple

It was way back in July of 2015 we first shared the news that the Vicious Brothers were going to be joining forces with YOU'RE NEXT screenwriter Simon Barret on a movie called TEMPLE. 

I didn't write for the site back then, but I remember being excited because I'll basically watch anything Simon Barrett writes (maybe not FRANKENFISH) – and then Barrett started saying in as many ways as possible "I'm not involved in the current version of this movie", which took my enthusiasm down to zilch. 

But then sometime in the last few years, since my interest dropped to nothing, the project has jettisoned the Vicious Brothers from behind the camera and subbed in a director named Michael Barrett (not seemingly related to Simon Barrett). Michael Barrett is famous for being a cinematographer and TEMPLE will mark his first feature.

TEMPLE synopsis:

Three Americans on a trip to Japan are fascinated by a haunted temple, and, despite warnings from the villagers, decide to spend a night there.

TEMPLE is directed by Michael Barrett from a script by Simon Barrett and stars Logan Huffman, Brandon Tyler Sklenar, and Natalia Warner. The film is set to hit theaters and VOD September 1st.
