Doug Liman set to adapt Jack Finney’s time-travel story Time and Again

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Finally, someone is going to bring Jack Finney to the movies, and it’s not INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS!

Lionsgate has acquired feature film rights to Finney’s illustrated novel TIME AND AGAIN, which has been developed by many different sources over the years but still awaits its first major film adaptation. Doug Liman (THE BOURNE IDENTITY, JUMPER) is the man tasked with making it happen; he’ll direct and produce. No screenwriter has been attached yet.

TIME AND AGAIN followsSimon Morley, a Manhattan illustrator who enlists in a secret government experiment and is transported from the mid-20th century to 1882 New York, where he falls in love and finds himself forced to choose between his lives in the present and the past.

Published in 1970, TIME AND AGAIN has tried multiple times to make it to the big screen, most notably via Robert Redford in the 1990s, but obviously without success.
