THE NINTH GATE (Blu-RAY) – August 11th

I’ll admit it: I used to have nothing but hate towards THE NINTH GATE. Every time someone brought it up I’d be quick to talk shit on the subject, except I had one tiny problem. I hadn’t seen it before. I based all my outlandish opinions on this flick from other people’s opinions, all of whom said it sucked poo. Then I watched it and I realized that all those people were assholes (and so was I). This flick is actually a pretty damn good movie, and if you were like me and steered clear based on the popular thought, go see it! You’ll be a better person for it, I swear.

The Goods:

THE HAUNTED WORLD OF EL SUPERBEASTO (Blu-RAY) – September 22nd

After what seems like an eternity, it looks like Rob Zombie’s HAUNTED WORLD OF EL SUPERBEASTO is finally getting a release, albiet straight to DVD / Blu-Ray. But honestly, did we really think a theatrical release was in the cards? Hmmmm… maybe something limited, but nothing full-blown. An adult cartoon that looks like it should be for kids probably wouldn’t do hot at the box office, but on DVD… now that’s a different story. DVD is the perfect place for a flick like this to shine, so props to Zombie and Co. for recognizing that. Plus… awesome cover!

The Goods:

DRIFTER: HENRY LEE LUCAS – September 1st

I’m only featuring this cause this silly movie stars Antonio Sabato Jr. My how we fall from grace, Antonio! Looks like another run-of-the-mill life of a serial killer movie, following the likes of ED GEIN, BUNDY, GREEN RIVER KILLER, and so on and so forth. Except I never heard of this Henry Lee Lucas fella before, but after a quick search, it looks like he was a drifter (hence the title) that killed some folk back in the early 80s. This is his story… zzzZZZzzz…

The Goods:

THE STRANGENESS –August 18th – Because the title is just so… strange!

NATURE OF THE BEAST – September 8th – Because this thing looks so damn awful it’s ridiculous.

THE WEEKEND MURDERS – August 11th – Because I dig the giant hand coming out of the corn field. Can’t tell what that has to do with anything, but I can dig it!
