Eli Roth appears in two mega-bloody stills from Chilean horror show Aftershock

A week ago came the highly contentious bidding war for AFTERSHOCK…the Chilean disaster flick produced, starring and co-written by Eli Roth. Well folks, companies may be tossing more dough into the ring when they catch a glimpse of these two gore-sodden first images from the film!

As you can see in the stills, Eli Roth is covered in blood as he tries to rescue a fellow victim of the ungodly earthquake.

With Ariel Levy, Nicolas Martinez, Lorena Izzo, Natasha Yarovenko, Andrea Osvart (below) and Miguel Asensio also starring (with a cameo from Selena Gomez) – here are a couple of quotes Roth had to say about AFTERSHOCK and his director Nicolas Lopez:

“Is basically set in the aftermath of the Chilean earthquake. That (the idea) came from him (Lopez) describing to me what the hours were like immediately following the earthquake. Everybody is on Facebook, everybody is on Twitter, everything is hi-tech. Then, within seconds, it’s like the Stone Age. There’s no electricity, no phones. There are fires. Criminals are out of the prisons and there are no police. You don’t know what the hell is going on.”

“I’ve been a huge fan of Nicolas Lopez since his remarkable debut Promedio Rojo and have watched him grow into one of the best young filmmakers out there. He has the incredible combination of commercial sensibility with an artistic eye, and what he has done here in Chile with their film industry is revolutionary. This collaboration marks the beginning of what we call Chilewood, making genre films for the global market using all the resources Chile has to offer. We are making a smart elevated disaster genre movie with superb production value, something really big. The film’s going to be very scary, very intense, and very real.”

Expect more from AFTERSHOCK as it quakes.
