It's been a while since we've heard any news regarding the Danielle Harris-starring SHIVER, with our last report coming a little over two years ago when we shared the first trailer for the Julian Richards-helmed flick. Now we have word that Image Entertainment has picked up the US rights to the Cyclone Productions thriller based upon a 1992 novel of the same name by Brian Harper, so hopefully we'll be hearing a release date for this badboy soon.

Starring Casper Van Dien, Rae Dawn Chong, Danielle Harris, John Jarratt, Luke Goss, Nikita Esco, and Brad Harris, SHIVER has the following synopsis:

“Wendy Alden, a young secretary in Portland lacking in self- confidence becomes victim of a savage killer who has claimed the lives of a number of other women. Somehow Wendy finds the resources of courage to fight back and escape and finally confront the monster of her living nightmare in a nerve shattering climax.“

We'll keep you posted on news regarding a release date for SHIVER. Check out the trailer for the film below.

Extra Tidbit: Does SHIVER look/sound like something you'll be checking out?

A delay for a movie like this means nothing. It's not a studio flick so they can sometimes sit on a shelf for a while being ignored. Nice cast though. I'll watch Harris in anything so I'm in.

Shiver's cast is very promising. The delayed release could mean nothing (and the film could rock), or it could mean that Shiver is DTV crap. The video art and the plot summary are generic. I am just some on-line idiot guessing. But, Shiver might be acceptable mediocre entertainment--that doesn't make any shiver with their o-face.
