India Eisley to star in The Curse of Sleeping Beauty

UNDERWORLD: THE AWAKENING star India Eisley is in final negotiations to star in a dark, modern take on the Brothers Grimm classic, THE CURSE OF SLEEPING BEAUTY, reports THR. In the modern twist, Eisley will take on the role of Sleeping Beauty, aka Briar Rose.

Pearry Teo will direct and produce the project who says, “When working on creating this specific vision of Sleeping Beauty, it's always been my intention to try something that's never been seen before. We're drawing on varied things like Silent Hill, Pan's Labyrinth, The Cell and Insidious for inspiration, but we are creating something that will be very unique, both visually and in terms of storytelling." With the inspiration for this one being pulled from films with fantastical elements dealing with otherworldly creatures, it’ll be interesting to see how Teo ties it all into his film, especially with a modern twist.

The film is also being produced by Bleiberg Entertainment's Ehud Bleiberg and executive produced by Nicholas Donnermeyer. A concurrent comic book is also being developed by illustrator Everett Hartsoe, who recently relaunched his series Razor with Jeff Most. Keep an eye here for more!
