Lionsgate acquires zombie thriller Maggie, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger

The apocalyptic Black List script, MAGGIE, by John Scott 3 has been snatched up by Lionsgate, who plan to release the film theatrically in North America in early 2015. The film was getting set for its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival, but it has since been pulled. Henry Hobson directs with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Abigail Breslin and Joely Richardson starring. Zombies are more popular than ever right now so it's nice to see a film like MAGGIE come along and try to spin a new tale around the world of the undead for once.

…deadly zombie virus that has put a plague on the world.  When Maggie, a vivacious young woman becomes infected, her father brings her home to let her be with their family.  As Maggie’s condition worsens, their relationship is tested, a father’s love holding on stronger than the disease. This heart-wrenching twist on the zombie apocalypse puts a human face on an inexplicable horror.
