Cult of Chucky

You can't keep a Good Guy down, as killer Good Guy doll Chucky has proven time and time again. The littlest maniac will soon be back for his seventh cinematic killing spree, as Universal has announced that they will be releasing writer/director Don Mancini's CULT OF CHUCKY on home video this fall, in time for Halloween.

CULT OF CHUCKY is currently in production, having started filming in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on Monday. When the camera's not rolling, Mancini and lead actress Fiona Dourif, who will be reprising the role of Nica Pierce from 2013's CURSE OF CHUCKY, have shared a handful of images from the set that not only feature Alex Vincent in the role of Andy Barclay, a character he played as a little kid in CHILD'S PLAY and CHILD'S PLAY 2, but also show that the filmmakers aren't trying to work around Winnipeg's weather conditions. It looks like Chucky is going to be slashing through the snow in CULT OF CHUCKY.

This film catches up with Nica Pierce

at an asylum for the criminally insane where she has been confined for the past four years and is erroneously convinced that she, not Chucky, murdered her entire family. But when Nica's psychiatrist introduces a new therapeutic "tool" to facilitate his patients' group sessions — an all-too-familiar "Good Guy" doll with an innocently smiling face — a string of grisly deaths begins to plague the asylum, and Nica starts to wonder if maybe she isn't crazy after all. Andy Barclay (Vincent), Chucky's now-grown-up nemesis from the original Child's Play, races to Nica's aid. But to save her he'll have to get past Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly), Chucky's long-ago bride, who will do anything, no matter how deadly or depraved, to help her beloved devil doll.

A CHILD'S PLAY fan since I was a child myself, I'm always happy to see Chucky come back to cause some more mayhem. No question, I will be adding CULT OF CHUCKY to my collection this fall.
