Max Minghellla might grow Horns alongside Daniel Radcliffe

Alexandre Aja’s adaptation of Joe Hill’s HORNS nabbed a rather big name two months ago when Daniel Radcliffe joined the cast as the tale’s tortured lead, Ig Perrish. Now, according to Variety, the film’s second main role is close to being filled.

Max Minghella (THE DARKEST HOUR, THE SOCIAL NETWORK) is in talks to star as Radcliffe’s antagonist in the flick, a seemingly trustworthy fellow named Lee Tourneau. Like all the characters in the story, Lee has more than a few skeletons in his closet.

Shooting is slated to begin this fall on HORNS, with Red Granite Pictures’ Riza Aziz and Joey McFarland producing with Mandalay’s Cathy Schulman and Adam Stone. Joe Hill and Red Granite’s Joe Gatta will exec produce.

“Horns,” a supernatural thriller driven by fantasy, mystery and romance, follows Ig Perrish (Radcliffe), the number one suspect for the violent rape and murder of his girlfriend. Hungover from a night of hard drinking, Ig awakens one morning to find horns starting to grow from his own head and soon realizes their power drives people to confess their sins and give in to their most selfish and unspeakable impulses – an effective tool in his quest to discover the true circumstances of his late girlfriend’s tragedy and for exacting revenge on her killer.
