New one-sheet for that Straw Dogs remake is a throwback to the original

I’m not going to lie… I kind of want to see the upcoming STRAW DOGS remake. Everything thus far from the flick has looked decent enough and I’m actually a big James Marsden fan. Boo me if you must but I dig the guy and the flicks he’s in. Not to mention the fact that I find Kate Bosworth absolutely gorgeous. And that STRAW DOGS is Alexander Skarsgård’s first major film role since he made it big with HBO’s “True Blood.” So as you can see there’s a lot going for this remake…

But alas it is a remake afterall, of a pretty classic film. But at least that isn’t lost in the marketing for this remake seeing how the newest one-sheet pays direct homage to the original film’s poster. Remember that shot of Dustin Hoffman’s glasses all shattered? Yup this time it’s James Marsden with the busted lenses. You can dig on that shite directly below, coming at us courtesy of JoBlo’s Pimpin’ Poster Palace. Go ahead and click through for a larger look at the poster.

David and Amy Sumner, a Hollywood screenwriter and his actress wife, return to her small hometown in the deep South to prepare the family home for sale after her father’s death. Once there, tensions build in their marriage and old conflicts re-emerge with the locals, including Amy’s ex-boyfriend Charlie, leading to a violent confrontation.

Along with Marsden, Bosworth (below), and Skarsgård the flick also stars Walton Goggins, Drew Powell and James Woods. That’s right, Jimmy freakin’ Woods! Now you kind of have to see this thing don’t you? Coming from director Rod Lurie, STRAW DOGS is set to hit theaters everywhere on September 16th.
