New synopsis for Mad Max: Fury Road, starring Tom Hardy

Last Updated on July 22, 2021

We're still more than a year away from seeing George Miller's MAD MAX: FURY ROAD blasting into theaters and while we have yet to see any glimpses of the final product, outside of some images of Tom Hardy on set, Warner Bros. screened the film for the first time in Burbank last night in a special test screening and now we have a new synopsis to share with you. Check it out:

“MAD MAX: FURY ROAD is the fourth film of George Miller‘s Road Warrior/Mad Max franchise co-written and directed by Miller. The post-apocalyptic action film is set in the furthest reaches of our planet, in a stark desert landscape where humanity is broken, and most everyone is crazed fighting for the necessities of life.

Within this world of fire and blood exist two rebels on the run who just might be able to restore order… There’s Max (played by TOM HARDY from The Dark Knight Rises), a man of action and a man of few words, who seeks peace of mind following the loss of his wife and child in the aftermath of the chaos.

And… Furiosa (played by CHARLIZE THERON from Prometheus), a woman of action and a woman who believes her path to survival may be achieved if she can make it across the desert back to her childhood homeland.”

First impressions from the test screening have been pretty positive even though it was only a rough cut and it's possible that the film will see some more changes before finally arriving in theaters on May 15 2015. I'm counting down the days.

The film, which follows Max (Tom Hardy) as he encounters a war rig manned by Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron) and her posse,  boasts a large ensemble cast that includes Hardy as the titular Max along with Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nathan Jones, Zoe Kravitz, Riley Keough, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Courtney Eaton, Josh Helman, Jennifer Hagan, iOTA, John Howard, Richard Carter, Megan Gale, Angus Sampson, Joy Smithers, Gillian Jones, Melissa Jaffer and Melita Jurisic.
