A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night

Ana Lily Amirpour’s debut A GIRL WALKS HOME ALONE AT NIGHT has finally been slated with a release as Kino Lorber will drop the film in theaters on November 21st in New York City and Los Angeles. While it’s not much of a release, it’s nice to finally see this one playing in front of audiences after its successful premiere at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.

The Iranian vampire tale is said to be a joyful mash-up of genre, archetype, and iconography, its prolific influences span spaghetti westerns, graphic novels, horror films, and the Iranian New Wave.

Strange things are afoot in Bad City. The Iranian ghost town, home to prostitutes, junkies, pimps and other sordid souls, is a bastion of depravity and hopelessness where a lonely vampire stalks its most unsavory inhabitants. But when boy meets girl, an unusual love story begins to blossom… blood red.

The film stars Sheila Vand, Arash Marandi, Dominic Rains, Marshall Manesh, Mozhan Marnó and Milad Eghbali.
