At the beginning of last month we brought along news regarding the stop-motion animated comedy-horror film PARANORMAN, which is being prepared by the same folks be CORALINE. The film, which is due to hit theaters next summer, had a list of vocal talents including Casey Affleck, Tempestt Bledsoe, Jeff Garlin, John Goodman, Bernard Hill, Anna Kendrick, Leslie Mann, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Elaine Stritch. Now a few more names have been dropped in our laps…

Alex Borstein (aka Lois Griffin on “Family Guy”), Jodelle Ferland (pictured right; SILENT HILL) and Tucker Albrizzi (I AM NUMBER FOUR) have all join the behind-the-scenes cast of PARANORMAN, which is being directed by Sam Fell and Chris Butler, from Mr. Butler’s original screenplay.

In addition, we can report that Jon Brion is doing the original score for the film. Brion has composed for films like MAGNOLIA, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and STEP BROTHERS, among many others.

In PARANORMAN, a small town comes under siege by zombies. Who can it call? Only misunderstood local boy Norman, who is able to speak with the dead. In addition to the zombies, he’ll have to take on ghosts, witches and, worst of all, moronic grown-ups, to save his town from a centuries-old curse. But this young ghoul whisperer may find his paranormal activities pushed to their otherworldly limits.

The film comes out on AUGUST 17th, 2012.
