The latest genre film from Xavier Gens, the director of  FRONTIER(S), THE DIVIDE, and the "X Is for XXL" segment of THE ABCs OF DEATH, THE CRUCIFIXION is slowly creeping out into the world. We first heard back this project back in 2014, when it was being presented to potential buyers at the American Film Market. The movie went into production in 2015 with Sophie Cookson (pictured above) in the lead… and since then things have been quiet on the THE CRUCIFIXION front.

Now we have an intriguing sign of life. THE CRUCIFIXION was recently being presented to potential distributors at another film market, this time the European Film Market, and part of the presentation was a poster – which we were able to get our hands on, and which you can see below.

Scripted by Chad and Carey Hayes, writers on both THE CONJURING and THE CONJURING 2, THE CRUCIFIXION is another horror film that was inspired by true events. It tells the following story:

When a priest is jailed for the murder of a nun on whom he was performing an exorcism, an investigative journalist strives to determine whether he in fact murdered a mentally ill person, or if he lost the battle with a demonic presence.

Cookson is joined in the cast by Javier Botet, Alexis Rodney, and Radu Andrei Micu.

We'll keep you updated as we hear more about THE CRUCIFIXION.
