One of my absolute favourite Australian films is THE LOVED ONES; hands down I love this film. I have a huge theatrical poster on my wall, I have film artwork signed by the director Sean Byrne, I’ve met him as well as three of the stars (all of whom are just lovely) and I’ve seen this film many films!

I am so excited that the US are finally getting the chance to see the film, and Insurge Pictures have announced it will release the film theatrically in June. But the thing with this is, you the audience get to chose the film to screen at your local theatre and you can invite friends as well! Head over to TheLovedOnesMovie.com and get on that!

To celebrate the impending release, a brand new short teaser clip has been released and this one is disturbingly twisted as we see the new Queen Of Horror Lola and her crazy ways! It is a riot, so check it out below!

Lola Stone asked Brent Mitchell to the prom, but Brent said no, and now he's screwed. What happens when Lola doesn't get what she wants? She enlists Daddy's help to throw a prom of her own where she is queen and Brent is king, whether he likes it or not. THE LOVED ONES is what happens when puppy love goes horribly, violently wrong. Brent should have said yes.

The film stars the talented Robin McLeavy (below), Xavier Samuel, Victoria Thaine, Jessica McNamee, Richard Wilson and John Brumpton as Daddy.

Extra Tidbit: Sean Byrne that me that some of the influences for the film were MISERY, CARRIE, PRETTY IN PINK, Tarantino, David Lynch and Disney!

I'm so pumped for this! I already own an (illegal) copy of this film that I got back in 2010, but this is one of my top ten favourite films :) I'm so happy to see it getting a US release, which also means a US DVD release!!! McLeavy was perfect in the film giving one of the truly best villain performances of all time.
