Some potential casting names revealed for the now back on third Riddick film

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Yesterday Eric brought us all the good news that THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK: DEAD MAN STALKING is back on! Production on the film had been shut down indefinitely however it seems the financial issues were worked out and the film is back on. Filming is meant to begin December 28th, and we all know what a looming shoot date means – time to cast!

Well the good folks at B-D have learned about some potential cast members, we say potential as either these peeps have had offers or there is a strong interest. We already know that Vin Diesel will reprise his role, as will Karl Urban, under director Davis Twohy. So which actors are being eyed? Andreas Apergis, Katee Sackhoff, Bokeem Woodbine and former WWE wrestler Dave Batista were all sent out offers last month.

Now it seems Matthew Nable has been sent an offer for the role of Bass Johns. Interest has been shown for Cliff Curtis and Holt McCallany for the roles of Santana and Vargas. Sackoff’s role offer is that of Dahl and Apergis for Krone. Sounds like a solid list of names to me, and Curtis definitely seems suited for this. We’ll be sure to hear a lot more as the film begins to shoot, and I am sure Vin Diesel will be sharing lots of updates too. Yesterday he posted the above concept art, which might have signaled the film moving forward.

Betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick (Vin Diesel) fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, Riddick unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction.
