SyFy's female-led monster hunter series Van Helsing is only four episodes into its inaugural season, and they're already confident enough to renew it for a second! Production will begin on the 13-episode second season in January.
Says showrunner Neil LaBute:
We have a wonderful and terrifying road ahead planned for Vanessa, her allies and her enemies. I think this is a world and a story that can be sustained for many years and I am inspired to do so thanks to Syfy’s obvious trust and commitment in the storytellers, cast and crew.
In the show:
Vanessa Helsing is the next in a lineage of warriors who must lead mankind against a world controlled by vampires. When Vanessa is resurrected five years in the future, she learns vampires have taken over the world and that she possesses unique power over them. She is essentially humanity’s last hope to lead an offensive to take back what has been lost.
The show stars Kelly Overton (Legends, True Blood), Jonathan Scarfe, Christopher Heyerdahl, Paul Johansson, David Cubitt, and Tim Guinee.
It airs on SyFy on Fridays at 10/9C.
