Teaser trailer for Korean killer wolf movie Howling

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Here’s something new for us to drool over: a killer wolf creature movie from South Korea called HOWLING! And it stars the incomparable Song Kang-Ho, the great character actor whom you might have seen in THE HOST, THIRST and THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE WEIRD. One of my favorite thespians in the business, the guy enlivens any picture he’s in, so giving him a supernatural wolf as a co-star just sweetens the pot.

We’ve got a teaser trailer from HOWLING, which you can see below. It’s in Korean, natch, but that murderous canines don’t really require translation.

The movie is based on the Japanese novel “Kogoeru Kiba”, which has the following synopsis: Newly promoted detective Takako Otomichi takes on her first big case involving a man who is the apparent victim of spontaneous combustion. Further deaths lead detective Takako Otomichi and partner Tamotsu Takizawa to believe the culprit may be a half-dog half-wolf like creature.

The flick comes from director Yu Ha (A DIRTY CARNIVAL) and will hit Korean cinemas in February. Can an English-language remake be far behind?
