Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 buzzes onto Scream Factory Blu-Ray this summer

Scream Factory announced a whole heap of new titles last Friday, but their biggest announcement was saved for Halloween itself: They will be putting out a collector's edition of Tobe Hooper's notorious sequel: THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2. Coming out in Summer 2016, the ample special features have yet to be announced.

TEXAS CHAINSAW 2 is a great pick for the company, which is uncommonly dedicated to breathing new life into weird but intriguing titles that didn't quite make it into the mainstream. A sequel from the same director more than a decade later that twists the tone into full-out comedy sounds like a trainwreck, but there's so much more to the flick than that.

With an eye-popping performance from Dennis Hopper, smashing Tom Savini gore, and an ending that takes place in an inexplicably beautiful underground lair decorated with Christmas lights, this is definitely a film to explore if you haven't seen it.

Chainsaw-wielding maniac Leatherface is up to his cannibalistic ways once again, along with the rest of his twisted clan, including the equally disturbed Chop-Top. This time, the masked killer has set his sights on pretty disc jockey Vanita "Stretch" Brock, who teams up with Texas lawman Lefty Enright to battle the psychopath and his family deep within their lair, a macabre abandoned amusement park.

THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2 also stars Caroline Williams, Bill Moseley, and Bill Johnson.
