We're not getting a new FRIDAY THE 13TH movie this year, but writer/director Justin Price and Uncork'd Entertainment will be bringing us a movie called THE 13TH FRIDAY, just in time for the Friday the 13th that's coming up in October.

Beyond having a title that instantly brings to mind a popular horror franchise, it doesn't look like THE 13TH FRIDAY will have anything in common with the adventures of Jason Voorhees. There is no masked slasher on display in the trailer. Its brand of horror is of a more supernatural variety.

The synopsis:

When a female refugee discovers an ancient demonic device that opens the gateway to another realm, she unleashes a dark entity that poses as her daughter. After many failed attempts to have the church explain the creation of her worst nightmares, she learns that the house is cursed by an enraged spirit that died on Friday the 13th. And now a group of thrill seeking friends unknowingly unleash its wrath and damn their souls.

Lisa May, Khu, Melissa Vega, and Victoria Valdez star.

Uncork'd will be giving THE 13TH FRIDAY a VOD release on October 10th, so check out the trailer below and see if this movie looks like something you'd like to watch on or around the next Friday the 13th.
