Independence Day Resurgence Liam Hemsworth Jeff Goldblum

This new clip from INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE displays the aliens' predilection for tearing down national landmarks. It makes you wonder why humanity bothered to rebuild them in the first place. Iconic monuments are basically catnip for trouble in Roland Emmerich movies. In the clip, Liam Hemsworth and Jeff Goldblum are stuck in the middle of a massive CGI clusterf*ck that admittedly has a solid image or two. Check it out below!

Directed by Emmerich, who co-wrote with Dean Devlin, James Vanderbilt, James A. Woods, and Nicolas Wright, INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE has the following synopsis:

We always knew they were coming back.  After INDEPENDENCE DAY redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global spectacle on an unimaginable scale.  Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet.  But nothing can prepare us for the aliens' advanced and unprecedented force.  Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.

Bill Pullman, Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Vivica A. Fox, Judd Hirsch, Brent Spiner, Charlotte Gainsbourg,Joey King, Maika Monroe, Sela Ward, DeObia Oparei, William Fichtner, and Jessie Usher star.

RESURGENCE will hit theatres on June 23rd, just in time for your Fourth of July barbecue.
