It's a twofer today! While STX Entertainment's THE BYE BYE MAN was originally set for an October release, it has been bumped up to a cushy summer slot: June 3rd. This information comes in serendipitous conjunction with the news that the Fox series, based on a comic book created by The Walking Dead's Robert Kirkman, will also be premiering its first season on June 3rd. It's a regular battle royale of horror fandom!

Outcast, which has already been renewed for a second season:

tells the story of Kyle Barnes, who has been plagued by possession since he was a child. Now, with the help of the Reverend Anderson, a preacher with personal demons of his own, Kyle embarks on a journey to find answers and regain the normal life he lost. But what Kyle discovers could change his fate — and the fate of the world — forever.

The ten episode first season stars Patrick Fugit, Philip Glenister, Kip Pardue, Reg E. Cathey, Julia Crockett, Allison Barnes, David Denman, Melinda McGraw, Grace Zabriskie, Catherine Dent, Brent Spiner, Lee Tergesen, and Wrenn Schmidt. The pilot episode was directed by Adam Wingard.

In THE BYE BYE MAN, directed by HOOD OF HORROR helmer Stacy Title:

Three college students who move off-campus and unwittingly unleash a supernatural entity.

The three college students will be played by Douglas Smith (STAGE FRIGHT), Cressida Bonas, and Lucien Laviscount (Scream Queens).

The film also stars Carrie-Anne Moss (THE MATRIX), Faye Dunaway (BONNIE AND CLYDE, CHINATOWN, and no I'm not kidding), Michael Trucco (WISHMASTER 4), and Doug Jones (PAN'S LABYRINTH) as the titular entity.
