The Conspiracy coming to the small screen as an NBC pilot

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

We've been seeing and hearing a lot from Christopher MacBride's chilling and compelling THE CONSPIRACY lately, learning earlier this year that XLrator had taken the US distribution rights to the film which hit VOD platforms and limited theaters last month. We also saw a groovy new poster in early July that begged the question "Who can you trust?". Our own Jake Dee was a fan of THE CONSPIRACY, giving it much love in his review HERE. Now it looks like THE CONSPIRACY may be bringing its wild theories to the small screen.

Variety is reporting that CONTAGION and THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM writer Scott Z. Burns is bringing a new put pilot titled "Conspiracy" to NBC. Based off of the 2012 film THE CONSPIRACY from Christopher MacBride and producer Lee Kim, the new pilot centers on…

…a conspiracy theorist who vanishes after a man is killed at an Occupy Wall Street protest. His sister and FBI agent are left behind to investigate.

XYZ Films had held the rights to the silver screen version of "Conspiracy", and shopped the project. Burns will pen and exec produce the drama, with Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Liza Chasin of Working Title Films also attached as exec producers. Daniel Pipski will co-exec produce.

MacBride and Kim along with Kyle Franke and Aram Tertzakian of XYZ Films will also receive exec producer credits, and Universal TV will produce the pilot.
