The Creeper returning? Jeepers Creepers 3 reportedly close to becoming reality

Nov. 15, 2013by: Kevin Woods

Victor Salva has been working for ten years to get a third installment of his JEEPERS CREEPERS franchise off of the ground. It's a shame it has taken this long as the first film was quite the hit, both in theaters and on the home video market, and the second one grossed $63 million worldwide on a budget of $17 million. Fans have been clamoring for more and it's truly surprising it has taken this long for it to happen, although there have reportedly been a few false starts for the production as well as dozens of rumors of the film actually starting (wishful thinking). But now it seems there may be some movement on the third entry of the JEEPERS CREEPERS franchise.

According to STYD and Bloody Disgusting, Salva may finally get to make JEEPERS CREEPERS 3 (apparently titled JEEPERS CREEPERS III: CATHEDRAL) soon.

Salva reportedly shot a scene back in October to prepare for filming and has a script ready to go. Plot, casting, and production details are unknown but Salva did offer up this quote...

"There may finally be some very good news for those waiting for the third Jeepers film to go before the cameras."

Now there are reports that JEEPERS CREEPERS 3 is very close to filming, with Ray Wise and Jonathan Breck (who played The Creeper in the first two films) rumored to be onboard. Let's hope so! I'm ready for a return to the wonderfully wicked world of The Creeper.

We'll keep you posted on news regarding JEEPERS CREEPERS 3 as we hear it.

Love all Salva's films, BUT.........

I love this guys work, especially Jeepers and Powder, but I hate the fact that they were made by a convicted child molester.

YES!

Finally. I loved the first film for being so different at the time when every horror film was a Scream "homage". The second film is truly a waste of a good actor (Ray Wise), a great premise (the Creeper himself) and an unexpected but welcomed cameo (Justin Long). I would love to see Salva redeem his franchise with a film as good as the original. The long rumored plot had to do with Trish from the original and her son dealing with the next cycle of the Creeper 23 years after Darry was

I hope they stick with this for continuity sake. I hope this happens. I think they have yet to explore this franchise to it's greatest potential.

Extra tidbit: No. The first one was really creepy and suspenseful. However, to me, the second one was a let down.
