Night of the Living Dead: Origins 3D is finished and will screen at Cannes

05.09.2014by: Ryan Miller

They sure did take their sweet ass time finishing up on the long talked about NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: ORIGINS 3D didn’t they? Apparently, they plan on screening the film to potential buyers at Cannes next week, so we could be seeing a lot more from this one in the near future. The film was directed by Zebediah De Soto and Krisztian Majdik and was co-written by De Soto, Warren Davis II and David Reuben Schwartz and was shot entirely in a CG setting using stereoscopic 3D. It is said to be a hybrid of graphic novel and traditional animation.

The film is a 3D animated re-imagining of the 1968 George A. Romero-directed zombie classic and it goes like this:

This re-imagining is the story of a group of survivors fighting to stay alive when a mysterious plague unleashes the undead on New York City. Barricaded in an abandoned apartment building, the characters from the original film face new terror and question each other’s compassion and sense of humanity as they fight to stay alive against the army of the living dead.

The film stars veterans Tony Todd and Tom Sizemore, along with scream queen Danielle Harris, Sarah Habel, Sydney Tamiia Poitier, Bill Mosley and Joseph Pilato. Look for more soon!

Extra Tidbit: Do you guys think this will be any good?

I'm confused about this, they say it's a re-imagining, but it's not at the farmhouse? If it's a sequel, they mention the characters from the original film, but only 1 person survived there, so shouldn't it be "character"? This is probably going to be awful unfortunately.
