The great Takashi Miike teaches us a Lesson of the Evil in this first teaser trailer

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Back in March we made you aware of LESSON OF THE EVIL, the great Takashi Miike’s newest directorial effort. Well, in the lead up to a November release in Japan, the first teaser trailer for the flick has arrived, and we have it below for you to take a peek at. Beware, if you don’t like seeing children get blown away by a shotty, you may wanna skip this bastard. Otherwise, proceed with agog!

Based on Yusuke Kishi’s 2010 novel of the same name:

LESSON OF THE EVIL centers on a teacher named Seiji Hasumi who’s loved by his students and respected by his peers. However, his outward charm masks his true nature. In reality, Hasumi is a psychopath who is unable to feel empathy for other human beings. Specifically, he has a severe antisocial personality disorder.

Because of his mental condition, Hasumi chooses to deal with problems like bullying and overbearing “monster parents” the easy way—by systematically murdering his students.

Just phenomenal, that setup. And with Miike at the helm, LESSON OF THE EVIL just might be my most anticipated foreign release of the year. What’s yours?
