The Hunger Games breaks records of advanced ticket sales, theaters adding more sessions to meet demand

I am sure this news was music to Lionsgates ears; advanced ticket sales for THE HUNGER GAMES have actually broken records!

The film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ novel (the first in a series) had its tickets go on advanced sales this week, a month before its big release. The film has out done the numbers that were set by THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE back in 2010, for its first day sakes. Theaters are actually adding more sessions to meet the hungry fans demands.

It seems pretty much set in stone that this will be a pretty big money maker, and coming out in the pre-Summer blockbuster season as well. The General Manager of Fandango Rick Butler commented that: “THE HUNGER GAMES is off to a great start. Yesterday we saw the biggest first day advance ticket sales in our company’s nearly 12-year history – which is especially impressive for a March release and a non-sequel.”

Better get cracking on reserving those tickets! The film hits March 23rd!
