Tony Todd joins the fight against Nazi zombie piloted Sky Sharks

12.15.2015by: Cody Hamman

Earlier this year, we learned of the existence of one of the most absurd concepts I have ever heard of, SKY SHARKS:

Deep in the ice of the Antarctic, a team of geologists uncover an old Nazi laboratory, still intact, where dark experiments had occurred. Unwittingly the geologists unleash upon the world a top-secret experiment the Germans had been working on – modified sharks that are able to fly, whose riders are genetically mutated, undead super-humans. The only thing that can stop them, and possibly save the world, is a military task force called “Dead Flesh Four” – assembled from reanimated U.S. soldiers who fell in Vietnam.

This whole "insane shark movie" phenomenon is going to jump the shark sooner or later, but at least we're getting some bugnuts insanity out of it while it's sticking around.

Production on SKY SHARKS is officially underway now, with director Marc Fehse at the helm and a cast that includes the previously announced Robert LaSardo, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Nick Principe, Lar Park Lincoln, and Lynn Lowry. Since the last time we heard about SKY SHARKS, the cast has been expanded with Tom Savini, German thrash legends Kreator, Michaela Schaffrath, Micaela Schäfer, Ralf Richter, Tobias Schenke, Dieter Laser, and the latest addition, CANDYMAN himself Tony Todd.

A behind the scenes image can be seen below that shows Todd on set as his character, General Frost.

I never expected to watch a movie concerning flying sharks being ridden by Nazi zombies, but now that the option is going to be there, I'm glad that such a solid cast has been assembled to take on this menace.

SKY SHARKS is expected to be released into the world sometime in fall 2017.
