Underworld prequel x 2

No, I didn’t stutter or accidentally repeat myself, I’m talking about IDW Publishing planning out a prequel comic book series to the upcoming UNDERWORLD: RISE OF THE LYCANS, which is, in itself, a prequel to the previous two UNDERWORLD movies starring Kate Beckinsale.

Beyond the street date (January 23, 2009), there’s nothing much else to go on about the series, other than it predates RISE OF THE LYCANS (check out our Comic-Con coverage of that flick HERE). They don’t tell much more beyond that, like how far back it goes, or what the storyline is about, other than it’s a prequel to UNDERWORLD’s prequel.

IDW has another UNDERWORLD series out there, continuing the story of the first two films, entitled RED IN TOOTH AND CLAW (check those out HERE), so I think it’s safe to say they know what they’re doing.
