IFC Films has just released the first trailer for David Brooks' ATM, a slasher flick that comes from the mind of BURIED scribe Chris Sparling. This time he's focused on another claustrophobic setting (although it'll be hard to out-do Ryan Reynolds' coffin): a lonely ATM, which happens to be a perfect hunting ground for a maniac stalking three co-workers. (Said maniac seems to be taking some inspiration from URBAN LEGEND's parka-wearing killer.)
Here's the lowdown: After leaving their company Christmas Party together, David Hargrove and Emily Brandt's impromptu first date takes an unexpected turn when their coworker, Corey, asks them to make a late-night stop at an ATM. What should be a routine transaction turns into a desperate struggle for survival when an unknown man appears outside the vestibule. With the wintry temperatures dipping below freezing, and the morning sunrise still hours away, they have no choice but to play the man's deadly game of cat-and-mouse.
ATM still doesn't have a release date to call its own, but with the trailer making an appearance today, I'm sure one isn't far off.
