Super Bowl LI is still a few days away, but the Super Bowl spot for director Rupert Sanders' live action adaptation of the GHOST IN THE SHELL manga has already made its way online and can be viewed below.

Written by Jonathan Herman and Jamie Moss, GHOST IN THE SHELL stars Scarlett Johannson as Major,

a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.

Johannson is joined in the cast by Rila Fukushima, Michael Pitt, Pilou Asbæk, Michael Wincott, Juliette Binoche, Beat Takeshi, Kaori Momoi, Chin Han, Danusia Samal, Lasarus Ratuere, Yutaka Izumihara, and Tuwanda Manyimo.

GHOST IN THE SHELL will be released into theatres on March 31st. In the meantime, click play on the spot and take in the sights of Johannson kicking ass, losing face, and wearing that nude thermoptic suit. The spot won't help you out if you want to know anything about the story, but the visuals are cool and the action looks promising.
