In Theaters Friday is a weekly column that provides you with early word on the latest trailers playing in front of the newest movies.
Another February weekend is on its way and another set of new movies are hitting theaters nationwide. This week's selection includes a sled dog movie, an heir to the Leslie Nielsen fortune, and a missing kid movie spiced up with racial tension. With seven new movies released over the past two weekends, you'll have plenty of options for your post Valentine's dates.

Getting the widest release this weekend is Paul Walker's first release of the month, EIGHT BELOW. While this flick is a family-friendly PG rated experience, Walker is also releasing a gritty street drama next weekend. The likelihood of a double feature seem slim. Trailers confirmed to be looking for placement include
RV and
BARNYARD. Because this film is from Disney, I'm going to assume you'll also be seeing trailers for
THE SHAGGY DOG,
CARS, and perhaps
PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST.

Secondly this week, is the release of DATE MOVIE. This film was written and directed by two of the guys responsible for SCARY MOVIE and stars Buffy fan favorite, Alyson Hannigan. The trailers have been heavily emphasizing Ms. Hannigan's appearance in a fat suit, a niche kind of comedy that either works for you or not at all. Trailers looking for placement include
SHE'S THE MAN,
NACHO LIBRE,
SLITHER,
RV, and
V FOR VENDETTA.

Finally, third this week is a racial kidnaping thriller starring Samuel L. Jackson and Julianne Moore. This is Jackson's first wide release since starring in THE MAN with Eugene Levy and his currently working on the buzzworthy SNAKES ON PLANES. Trailers looking for placement include
FLIGHT 93,
FAILURE TO LAUNCH,
THE DA VINCI CODE,
CLICK , and
16 BLOCKS.
In limited release this weekend is the imported thriller, NIGHT WATCH. While I don't usually handle limited releases,
A SCANNER DARKLY is looking to place its second trailer on prints. Check out some screen grabs from this trailer below.
