Morricone Basterds?

With his “guys on a mission” epic INGLORIOUS BASTARDS set at the height of WWII, it’s not like filmmaker Quentin Tarantino can flip through his undoubtedly expansive LP collection seeking obscure rock/pop/soul gems to pepper his soundtrack.

How about a score from a legendary composer? QT has reportedly approached “il maestro” Ennio Morricone about providing the music for the wartime espionage and Nazi scalping. The pair had previously planned to collaborate but it never came together — let’s hope it works out this time.

The almost impossibly prolific Morricone (who turns 80 today!) is perhaps best known for his spaghetti western scores, but counts just about every genre among his literally hundreds of films.
