Jason Momoa sidesteps Aquaman questions; says he wants to play an anti-hero

Although it hasn't been confirmed, Jason Momoa will likely be playing Aquaman in BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, which means the actor has had to deal with interviews like this one. Over the weekend at the Evolution Expo, Momoa was asked how he would feel about playing a superhero, and the actor said he'd rather play an anti-hero.

I think it would be really, really fun to play a superhero. You know? I’ve always talked about, like, what’s your favorite. I mean I love Lobo so… but ah… You know. It would be awesome. I don’t know how they do it but… Yea, absolutely I think it would…I just don’t really see myself as a superhero. Yeah, no I mean, they’re kind of written a little different. I don’t know. I just… you know. I’m not wearing a lot of the…I don’t see myself in tights a lot. And ah…I’m more of a, I don’t know, an anti-hero if you will. In life. So, not the smiling, parading to saving the world kind of guy. Yeah, the Hulk would have been fun!

Aquaman has been portrayed as an anti-hero in many DC comics, and especially in the more recent ones. While Jason Momoa would make a great Lobo, I do think he might be trying to throw us off a bit with his comment on the character. Do you think Jason Momoa will be playing Aquaman in BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, and how do you feel about him being an anti-hero in Zack Snyder's new movie?

BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE is scheduled to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
