Witness the new logo for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in this motion poster

With TWILIGHT mercifully done, we can put or teen girl franchise focus squarely on THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE, the second installment in the series which is slated to hit theaters next year.

Facebook premiered the motion poster for the movie with the new tagline “Every revolution begins with a spark” as well as a contest to share the poster using the Twitter hashtag #TheSpark.

The logo is just slightly different from the first film, but enough that I am sure huge Katniss fans creamed in their jeans over it. I liked the first film quite a bit more than I expected to. I am also keeping my expectations high for the next one since director Francis Lawrence is taking over from Gary Ross and the screenplay comes from Michael Arndt, the writer for STAR WARS: EPISODE VII.

Plot: The Hunger Games: Catching Fire begins as Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson). Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a Victor’s Tour of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow (Donald Sutherland) prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that will change Panem forever.

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and Willow Shields. It is scheduled to open on November 22, 2013.
