07.16.2015

It's that time of year again; the summer fruits are ripening, the beaches are full of happy vacationers, and a select group of television aficionados are huddled inside debating the hits and misses of this years Emmy Award nominations. The 2015 nominations were announced earlier today and, with one or two exceptions, the list consists of the usual suspects. Extra Tidbit: I was about to get slightly upset at the complete lack of Hannibal nominations, but apparently they aren't eligible this year.

I think Bloodline got snubbed for outstanding drama. It truly is an outstanding drama in every sense. My only hope is that Ben Mendelsohn wins for supporting actor. His performance was incredible.

Really hope Mad Men takes home as many awards as it was nominated for. Or at least for Best Drama Series, and Best Actor in a Drama since Hamm has never won in the entirety of the series.

And it sucks that Justified received no nominations. It was easily one of the best, most consistent television series for the last six years and it's a shame that Olyphant and especially Goggins never won at least once for their brilliant portrayals.

Still no love for Hannibal or Penny Dreadful. Those are two of the best shows on TV. I'm happy to see that Better Call Saul is getting recognized.
