If you saw Will Ferrell at the Golden Globes, you no doubt saw the giant ‘fro he’s sporting for his upcoming 70s basketball flick SEMI-PRO. That hairdo alone has me convinced this movie could be comedy gold. I’m a little more convinced this morning with news that Will Arnett, one of the funniest guys who isn’t super famous yet, has joined the cast. Arnett will play a drunken sportscaster who works the ABA games that Ferrell’s team (the Flint Tropics) plays in. Also cast in the film are Woody Harrelson and Andre Benjamin. The film was written by Scot Armstrong who co-wrote OLD SCHOOL and STARSKY & HUTCH. Arnett and Ferrell can be seen next in another sports comedy, the ice skating laffer BLADES OF GLORY, coming in March. Filming on SEMI-PRO is expected to begin next month in Los Angeles.
