Strike Back below!

How exactly do you cram a $300M, three hour movie into a thirty second TV commercial? Actually, it seems you can do it surprisingly well. This ad ran during the World Series, and is wise to focus less on the actual plot and more on the giant robots, rainbow colored creatures, and giant, robotic, rainbow colored explosions featured in AVATAR.

For all intents and purposes, this could be a trailer for the video game, as actual humans are seen for about two seconds and it will likely leave the average World Series viewer going, “What the hell was…Ooh the game’s back on!”

But it’s definitely worth watching as surprisingly enough, there’s actually a fair amount of new footage shown for a thirty second spot. Check it out below.

Extra Tidbit: How is this even a hard battle? As cool as they are, missiles beat dinosaurs every time.

Looks fantastic. The CGI keeps improving with each newly released bits of footage.

Didn't James Cameron, himself, say that the $300 million price tag was a completely false rumor?

Yeah, he did. It was only back in 1997 that this film would have cost north of $300million.

Every time I see something new I get more pumped. Which is odd seeing as how I was ready to blow this film off after the teaser.

Looking forward to Avatar!

I want to love this
I am as big a Cameron fan as anybody, but I just am not feeling thrilled about this picture. Maybe I'm too old; I can still remember TV spots for the first Terminator and how much they affected my then-early-teenage mind. These ads and trailers aren't doing for me. I'll still be first in line to see it, though, in a vain effort to recapture my youth...

"Missiles beat Dinosaurs every time." Gee, have we not noticed that Cameron likes to show technological supremacy being defeated by 'weaker forces' as a theme? Terminator? Aliens anyone?

I just can't take this movie seriously
This just looks like a lame cash in on Peter Jackson's King Kong.

King Kong 2, James Cameron's Revenge

A cash in on King Kong? Really? Other than the fact both movies utilize CGI, they have nothing in common. I'm not sure what you'd be cashing in on anyways, King Kong wasn't that big of a deal.

Very cool 30sec spot.
This film is going to be insane! Can't wait.

PS. The film isn't a $300million movie. The budget was quoted at around $200million (and less than Terminator Salvation's budget.).
