Batman tries to run down Superman in new Dawn of Justice TV spot

01.11.2016

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice Ben Affleck Henry Cavill Gal Gadot Banner

A couple of new BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE television spots aired over the weekend, and while one of them is just a slightly longer look at the "Bruce Wayne meets Clark Kent" scene from the trailer (I think Wayne has an extra line of dialogue), the other has Batman taking on the Man of Steel in his Batmobile, which doesn't end well for The Dark Knight.

Check 'em out:

I'm really digging Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne and Batman voices, and I know that some weren't happy when he was cast as the Caped Crusader, however I think many are going to have a change of heart after watching DAWN OF JUSTICE, even if the movie as a whole doesn't reach its full potential. It sounds like the film will though, based on the supposed leaked review from last month, but we should still keep expectations in check because we all know how unreliable early reviews/reactions can be.

BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE opens on March 25, 2016.

"...even if the movie as a whole doesn't reach its full potential."

Could this site be any more obviously anti-DC? Almost every DC related article has this stink of "if it'll be any good" to it. I've been reading joblo a looong time, but this writing makes you seem like pissy fan boys not entertainment writers. Leave your biases out of it and write the stories.

I think, of all articles to say that in, this has to be one of the least anti-DC ones yet. Now, Billy Donnelly on the other hand, is an equal-opportunity fan-basher every chance he gets (with DC being the easier target due to being relatively new with their shared universe).

What are you talking about? The only pissy fanboy here is you. This is not biased at all, it's skeptical and for a legit reason, the last trailers have been terrible and glowing "early reviews" are almost always a BS attempt to fool the public, i.e. fantastic four. I'm pretty sure they are entitled to write an article anyway they see fit on their own website no matter what some keyboard warrior with poor writing skills demands. Oh and anyone with half a brain thinks this looks awful and the

Anyone think they should just dub Kevin Conroy's voice over whatever actor is playing batman from now until such time as Kevin Conroy is dead?

Bullshit...

It doesn't look like he was trying to hit him at all to me, it looks like he was taking a high speed turn and supes popped in front of him deliberately, notice the headlights. Bats had no choice but to hit him...

HIT HIM WITH CAR ... ANSWER

Batman is sending a message, like here I am ... doesn't matter how strong and power you are, you'll feel me. It's more of a symbolic scene!

why would anyone who had seen Supes destroy a city fighting aliens try to hit him with a goddamn car?

I am super excited for this movie. Probably more excited than any other comic book movie scheduled next year. But I'm not entirely sold on Batman's digitized voice. Not sure why they went that route again. I mean it would make more sense if Batman didn't change his voice as (1) he wears a mask, so no one will know who he is. The chances of a criminal, who is scared shitless, picking up on Bruce Wayne and Batman having the same voice is pretty far-fetched, (2) it's not like Batman speaks to

In contrast, look at Superman, he has no voice changing ability and he speaks to the public pretty frequently. He also doesn't wear a mask and his disguise is a pair of glasses. If Superman can get away with not changing his voice, then why can't Batman. Just doesn't seem to match up well in terms of rationale.

I'm probably over thinking this....

Yep.you are overthinking it. The only batman who didn't change his voice is George clooney(I might be wrong).Besides..Ben affleck's voice isn't naturally intimidating like Kevin conroys

you are definitely over t hinking AND underthinking. Sure Batman doesnt go to press conferences. But what if his voice is picked up by cameras in a bank heist. Or what IF someone like DEATHSTROKE or DEADPOOL or any other villaintrying to crack his identity records him or what not

I know everyone here is super jazzed for this movie (how can you not be?), but is anyone on board with Batman's digitized voice? I think it's a grievous misstep on the part of the filmmakers.

I'm not sure if I'm on board with it. As excited as I am for this movie, I just don't understand why they would digitize his voice when that was the one constant criticism on all sides for the Nolan movies.

I don't think they had much of a choice. Affleck's normal voice isn't that threatening and having him fight Superman makes the intimidation factor even more important than in the previous films.

Also, take into account, he is bruce wayne, someone who is in the media quite often and more than likely has a recognizable voice. A) someone could recognize him or B) if someone recorded his voice on camera, they could easily compare it to anyone on earth.

Also, it gives him an inhuman demon like voice. Something hed use to his advantage as a Bat...MAN

It makes sense to disguise his voice. 1, it sounds more terrifying and 2, as someone else mentioned, Bruce Wayne is well known so he has a distinct voice as a distinct chin.
The problem with Bale's voice was that it was flat out stupid. It wasn;t menacing and he sounded like he was constantly out of breath. "I'm not the...hero...gotham deserves...but the.....wheez...hero gotham....needs" (exaggerated but listen to the pauses he takes when he talks as Bats)

I mean, Kevin Conroy has an amazing Bruce Wayne as well as a terrifying Batman voice and all he did was kinda mimic Michael Keaton. It was a soft spoken tone but it had a menacing tone as well. Conroy just improved upon it.
Kilmer and Clooney did nadda and Bale was...well we all know how dumb Bales was.
