Beowulf art and R-clip

08.26.2007
Ye olde CG tale of warriors and monsters is coming in November, so more new BEOWULF material shows up on a regular basis. Although the "new" stuff seems to be slightly different versions of previous stuff...

Anyway, here's the latest poster, and you can see the Jolie-voiced R-rated teaser clip shown at Comic Con in big fat high-definition RIGHT HERE!

Extra Tidbit: The original Beowulf poem is considered “England’s national epic”.

I don't know..the animation looks awesome, i'll admit, but why the hell even go to the effort to make them LOOK real when you can just use real fucking actors? Just seems stupid to me.

The only way i'll be happy with a CGI Justice League is if they use Alex Ross's JLA. Otherwise, they might as well wait 3 or 4 years when they can do a live action.

The poster isn't that bad. For this movie I admit it could be way more wicked. I had no trouble seeing the, "is the" at all.

The theatrical version will be pg-13 with changes and additions made to cover up objectionable parts and a dvd release without those changes is planned.

I think this movie won't do very good at the box-office. Sure, it looks incredible... but an R-rated animation movie, near Christmas? Just don't see it cashing in on the big bucks.

I like the poster, though.

I dunno, it's good...

I assume that this poster was designed with 3D in mind, there'll probably be a version where the sword seems to stick out if you look at it from a certain angle. That's my guess, but I could be wrong.

Geez, that's awful...

This has to be one of the most unbalanced posters ever. Pride / Curse reads as one after the other, making no sense, then you look closer and see that to the left of CURSE it says "is the"... why is that there? Why is it placed mid blade? And silver? Anyway... I don't get it, at all. Watching the special features on 12 Monkeys you see how much art they go through to get to the final poster, which is pretty cool, although they passed on some other nice ones. How did the makers of Beowolf get to

How did the makers of Beowolf get to such a dull poster? All this shows off is how lame this mo-cap looks.
