Bryan Fuller exits Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles

Poor Bryan Fuller. The man just cannot seem to keep a job. On top of the famous cancellation of Fuller's HANNIBAL series, it was only this past year that we passed along the news that Fuller had been replaced as showrunner on Starz's AMERICAN GODS, only to be hired to run Spielberg's reboot of AMAZING STORIES – which he was then fired from. 

And now it looks like Fuller is moving on from Anne Rice's THE VAMPIRE CHRONICLES as well. Fuller was working on the series with Rice and her son Chris, but now it seems that our buddies over at DC learned from Rice herself that Fuller has moved on.

Oh, well. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if this new series will live up to Rice's classic series of vampire novels. I'm hopeful that the series will be a big hit, especially considering the material probably should have been made into a TV series right off the bat instead of the (admittedly solid as hell) film we got back in the 90's.

And on top of that news, it seems like the series now has an official title: THE VAMPIRE LESTAT. And since we're here, it also turns out that Christopher Rice has written the first episode, which is going by the title: "Wolf Killer." You can check out his Facebook post HERE.
