Cera’s Infinite Playlist

I’m going heading to New York in a couple of days to visit some friends, explore dark alleys, and get hammered, so the following story about a genuine ‘New York’ movie has me a little stoked. Newly famous Michael Cera (SUPERBAD) has signed on to star opposite Kat Dennings (Catherine Keener’s daughter in THE 40-YEAR-OLD VIRGIN) in the literary adaptation NICK AND NORAH’S INFINITE PLAYLIST.

The movie will be directed by Peter Sollett, whose previous feature was the New York indie RAISING VICTOR VARGAS, and this one is about two heart-broken “bridge and tunnel” teenagers who spend one long night in New York City while looking for the unannounced show of their favourite band. Apparently this is going to be a fun, young, hip and sexy romantic comedy, and with Michael Cera being the current poster-boy for young, indie awkwardness, you just know this isn’t going to appeal to more than just your average teen movie crowd. Production begins later this year.
