Warner Bros. unveiled the official logo for FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM yesterday (pictured above), and now Entertainment Weekly has given us the first pictures of Eddie Redmayne's Newt Scamander. FANTASTIC BEASTS takes place in the year 1926 as world-famous magizoologist Newt Scamander heads off to New York to find…well, presumably some fantastic beasts. As Entertainment Weekly points out, this picture has Scamander standing inside the Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA), which is the American equivalent of the Ministry of Magic. Not much else is known aside from some of the cast, which includes Katherine Waterston, Colin Farrell, Samantha Morton, Ron Perlman and Jon Voight. Given that this film is directed by David Yates, who successfully helmed the last 4 HARRY POTTER flicks, we have somewhat of a prequel story that really has potential!
FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM will open in theaters on November 18, 2016.
