Earlier this year Hugh Jackman took to the web to show off what many thought would be his new hairstyle for the upcoming PAN film from Joe Wright (ATONEMENT, HANNA). While Jackman rocks that bald look like few can, that was not the end of his transformation for the role of Blackbeard. As you can see from the picture above and ones below, Blackbeard sports a style more coiffed than one might expect.

As we've heard, Wright's PAN is certainly a departure on the mythos we're all familiar with. In this iteration, the antagonist is Blackbeard who is outfitted with a flying ship used to steal orphans. As for Captain Hook . . . he is neither a captain nor does he sport a hook. An origin story of sorts? Possibly, although I've come to expect things that are a little bit different from director Joe Wright. Here's hoping he delivers where all other live-action Peter Pan films have not.

Joe Wright's PAN is aiming to hit theaters on July 17, 2015.
