Deadpool & Blind Al snuggle up in new Deadpool 2 set pic

We already know full well that DEADPOOL 2 will introduce a ton of new characters – like Cable (Josh Brolin) and Domino (Zazie Beetz) – but that doesn’t mean fan favorites from the first movie are getting the shaft. Deadpool’s (Ryan Reynolds) blind, salty, IKEA-loving roommate Blind Al (Leslie Uggams) will be returning for the sequel and we got our first picture of the two best pals on set.

We can thank Reynolds for posting this on his social media accounts, so be sure to include an extra slab of meat in your usual daily offering to him.

Uggams joins Brianna Hildebrand’s Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Stefan Kapicic’s Colossus, Karan Soni’s Dopinder, Morena Baccarin’s Vanessa and, presumably, T.J. Miller’s Weasel in the returning slate of characters from the first film. The movie was an unexpected smash, so you have to keep everyone around to keep the mojo flowing.

There are so many great characters in the first movie that helped flesh-out the world of DEADPOOL, and the character’s relationship with Al is all at once endearing, odd and crass. I’m not alone in saying I’m anxious to see which piece of furniture they argue over this time, or perhaps if they’ll debate the quality of those fancy meatballs IKEA gives out.

DEADPOOL 2 arrives June 1, 2018.
