Fate of the Furious & Lord of the Rings now share something – a long runtime

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

I'm still mad that the official title of the film – the one on the posters and trailers – isn't F8 OF THE FURIOUS. Because, I mean, that's the whole reason you named it that!!! Come on! But I digress…The film itself looks suitably epic, as befitting the ever-growing franchise. Large cast, huge explosions, insane stunts. The works.

But that's not the only thing that might be epic this time around! Like GONE WITH THE WIND or LORD OF THE RINGS before it, the new FAST AND FURIOUS film's runtime will be 160 minutes, almost three hours (according to IMDb). If true (IMDb has been known to run rumors from time-to-time), that'd make it about thirty minutes more than the previous installment (which clocked in at around 140 minutes). This would obviously make it the longest film in the franchise's history.

So what do you Schmoes think? You down for more Vin Diesel action? Or are you afraid of too much of a good thing? Sound off below!

Either way, F8 OF THE FURIOUS (I'm gonna make it stick) will come roaring into theaters April 14th, 2017.
