Final poster for Ender’s Game with Harrison Ford and Asa Butterfield says it’s not a game

Sooooo, is it or isn't it?

The new (and presumably final) poster for ENDER'S GAME has arrived, which is basically a frontal shot of the original poster. It's a suitable poster, I suppose, but nothing groundbreaking or blow your hair back awesome. The text on the poster is what throws me, as they clearly spell out, "This is not a game," then drop the title: ENDER'S GAME. Yeah, that's nitpicking and perhaps there's a grander message that derives from the book, which I haven't read, so I'll leave it to the die hard fans to set us all straight.

Take a look:

ENDER'S GAME is a mixed bag for me. Visually, it looks sharp and refined and it carries some fine star power with the likes of Harrison Ford, Ben Kingsley, Viola Davis, Hailee Steinfeld, Abigail Breslin, and Asa Butterfield, but thus far doesn't seem to have a lot of steam in terms of excitement. The unfortunate author controversy doesn't affect me, but can be a stain to others. On the flipside, the trailer shown at Comic Con was much more enticing than the one we've already seen and I think that will help generate some much-needed enthusiasm for something that feels rather lukewarm at the moment.

ENDER'S GAME opens on November 1, 2013.
